As the diagram shows, hypnotherapy is a very effective therapeutic approach. It differs from other forms of therapy because it taps into the unconscious mind. Did you know that this part of the mind influences 90% of behaviour and feelings but we are not aware of it? For example, have you ever driven somewhere and thought, "Did I just go through a stop sign?" or "I have no idea how I got myself home?" That is your subconscious mind at work. It is the portion of the mind we are not aware of; however; it knows how to keep you safe.
What exactly is Hypnotherapy? Hypnotherapy is the combination of Hypnosis with another therapeutic approach, such as CBT. Hypnosis is the use of trance (a deep state of relaxation) to make changes at the unconscious level. Clients remain fully aware of their surroundings and remain in complete control during the process. Hypnosis is very effective in creating and maintaining change in many areas including reducing depression and anxiety, PTSD, and eliminating unwanted habits and behaviours.
