Stephanie is a member in good standing with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and National Guild of Hypnotists (NGH). Stephanie graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science degree (Psychology) and then went on to obtain a Master of Social Work degree from McMaster University. She is a Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapist who is also certified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Family Mediation.
Stephanie's professional experience includes work in a variety of settings: law enforcement, healthcare, child protection, government, higher education, and private practice. Her professional development training includes Crisis Intervention, Critical Incident Stress Management, and Custody and Access Assessments. Stephanie is a published author in the field of mental health (see publications) and has provided training on Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), self-care and resiliency to various organizations providing front line and emergency service support. In relation to individual and family counselling, Stephanie believes in a client-centred approach; meaning that when we explore ourselves honestly and in context, we tend to move towards growth and healing and have the capacity to find our own unique answers. Stephanie also strongly believes in mindfulness practices to assist with anxiety and concentration (meditation and yoga) and guides clients to understand and use their personal energy to achieve (mind-body-spirit) balance. Stephanie is passionate about personal development and continues to learn about alternative forms of healing modalities. Stephanie is also a certified Yoga instructor (RYT-200) and believes in a holistic approach to overall wellness and will support her clients along their path of self-discovery with care, compassion and non-judgment.

Please note that Stephanie has set her fees for counselling based on the recommended fee range set out by the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
Stephanie's services are NOT covered under OHIP. You may wish to check with your employer and/or insurance provider to see if Registered Social Workers are covered under your benefits. Counselling services are also claimable as a medical expense on your income tax. Fees are due following the session and an official receipt is provided.
HST will NOT be added to the session fee. Canada Revenue Agency recognizes three clinical counselling groups as HST exempt: Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychologist and Psychiatrists.
